Job summary

NISC develops and implements enterprise-level and customer-facing software solutions for 1,200+ energy cooperatives and communication organizations across North America. The role focuses on designing, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure, networks, and security architectures to support cybersecurity investigations and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required or equivalent experience.
• Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.
• Experience administering and optimizing application stacks, including IIS, Tomcat, Apache, and NGINX.
• Strong networking experience including switches, SPAN/mirror ports for NDR platforms such as Darktrace, Suricata, and SIEMonster.
• Experience deploying vulnerability-scanning platforms (OpenVAS, Nessus, Qualys).
• Experience with endpoint agents (NinjaOne, Action1, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).
• Experience configuring firewalls, VPN/SSL, and AD integrations.
• Experience with cloud platforms (OCI/AWS/Azure).
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (VMware, Hyper-V, Docker).
• Automation and configuration tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python).

Responsibilities

• Analyze business challenges and lead evaluation of technology products and platforms.
• Design infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity architectures.
• Lead infrastructure configuration, troubleshooting, and support with change-control.
• Assist root-cause investigations of cybersecurity incidents and preventive measures.
• Identify improvements to support processes and documentation.
• Troubleshoot end-user, customer, and internal inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and security requirements.
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues.
• Contribute innovative ideas and technical solutions.
• Represent the company at conferences and industry events.
