Job summary
McKinsey & Company is seeking a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer to lead deployment and scaling of a next-generation AI platform, working directly with clients across North America. You’ll drive architectural decisions, ensure production-readiness, and guide multi-workstream deployments across cloud and hybrid infrastructures, including Kubernetes-based environments.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- 8+ years of hands-on software, platform or infrastructure engineering experience.
- Strong Python and modern web frameworks.
- Cloud deployment experience across AWS/Azure/GCP with Kubernetes.
- Experience leading complex deployments and setting delivery standards.
- CI/CD and IaC discipline with automation tooling.
- Familiarity with relational and graph databases and data pipelines.
- Willingness to travel and communicate with client stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead deployment and scaling of AI platform across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Direct client-facing delivery while guiding architectural decisions.
- Mentor engineers and shape delivery practices based on field experience.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to operationalize AI systems.
