Job summary

Workday Extend Services Consultant designs, develops, and deploys custom AI agents and Workday Extend applications for customers, operating alongside Workday’s HR, Financials, Student Information Systems and Delivered Agents.

You will lead discovery sessions to assemble requirements, define agent objectives, and establish necessary guardrails and escalation paths for AI actions, using MCP-compatible tools to build extensions with natural language and code.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Workday HCM/Financials/Student domain experience.
• 7+ years Data migration, integration, or software development.
• 3+ years Software Architecture & Design.
• Working knowledge of building AI agents and agentic apps on core systems.
• Knowledge of REST/SOAP/JSON/XML and authentication (OAuth, JWT, SAML).
• Experience leading software implementations and client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy custom AI agents and Extend applications for customers.
• Lead discovery sessions to define requirements and agent objectives.
• Establish guardrails and escalation paths for AI actions.
• Review technical designs for consistency, maintainability and scalability.
• Explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
