Job summary

CVS Health in the United States is seeking a Senior Manager of AI Engineering to establish and lead our enterprise AI engineering capabilities, driving design, development, and operationalization of scalable AI and Generative AI solutions.

This leader will stay hands-on with modern AI tech, cloud-native architectures, agentic frameworks, and production AI systems, serving as the technical authority and partnering with business leaders to turn strategic opportunities into measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

7+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, machine learning, or AI engineering experience.
2+ years leading engineering teams or architecture initiatives for enterprise-scale platforms.
Proven experience designing, building, and operating cloud-native applications on AWS and/or GCP.
Experience delivering production AI solutions including Generative AI, Agentic AI, and RAG platforms.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and modern software engineering practices.
Experience partnering within a product operating model to define technology roadmaps and deliver business outcomes.
Exceptional communication, mentorship, and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Build and lead a high-performing AI and software engineering team with a culture of innovation and accountability.
Establish technical vision, engineering standards, and architectural roadmap for enterprise AI platforms.
Serve as senior technical leader for AI initiatives, providing architectural guidance and design reviews.
Coach engineers in system design, software engineering best practices, and operational excellence.
Partner with executives to align AI investments with business objectives.
Define and execute strategy for enterprise AI, Generative AI, Agentic AI, and automation initiatives.
Lead end-to-end delivery across the SDLC meeting performance, security, and cost goals.
Ensure Responsible AI, security, governance, and regulatory compliance in all AI initiatives.
