Elsevier seeks a Senior Software Engineer / Senior AI Engineer to build AI-powered features inside cross-functional squads. You will ship production-ready agentic AI solutions, integrate tool-augmented workflows, and contribute to observability and guardrails in enterprise systems.

Requirements include 3+ years in software engineering with LLM production experience, prompt engineering, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP). Strong communication and data modelling skills are expected.

Formación

• 3+ years in software engineering with hands-on LLM-powered production experience.
• Comfortable working autonomously within defined problems and time-boxed cycles.
• Experience building RAG pipelines, tool-augmented agents, and agentic workflows.
• Familiar with prompt engineering, context management, evaluation, and observability.
• Understand how agents use memory, tools, and retrieval for multi-step tasks.
• Experience integrating AI into existing systems via APIs and data pipelines.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Delivery practices: CI/CD, SDLC, TDD, code review.
• Data: relational, columnar and vector stores; data modelling.
• Languages: Python, Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, SQL and AI SDKs.
• Clear written and verbal communication with peers and stakeholders.
• Measurement: instrumenting solutions to capture usage and productivity metrics.

Responsabilidades

• Build prototypes and ship AI solutions to production standards within a defined technical approach.
• Implement tool use, retrieval pipelines, and agent workflows.
• Contribute to evaluation, observability, and guardrails for agentic systems.
• Integrate AI capabilities into existing enterprise workflows and systems.
• Maintain high code quality and documentation for reuse.
• Flag technical risks and blockers early.
• Interface with peers to finalize requirements and fix moderately complex bugs.
• Build reusable patterns and starter kits across functions.
• Capture outcome data against baselines.
• Support handover and capability-building in host functions.
