Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to guide AI/ML strategy across a six-Task Order portfolio and lead the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions. You will drive model selection, training pipelines, and continuous improvement while ensuring security, explainability, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 5+ years of AI/ML engineering experience, strong cloud and DevSecOps practices, and proven production delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 5+ years of professional software or AI/ML engineering experience.
• Proven experience deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments.
• Experience with common AI/ML frameworks and tools.
• Strong programming skills in Python/Java/C# or similar.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI/ML strategy for six-TO IDIQ portfolio and align with enterprise objectives.
• Architect, develop, integrate, and deploy AI/ML solutions into applications.
• Guide AI/ML model selection, training pipelines, and MLOps practices.
• Drive modern engineering practices (MLOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD) across the program.
• Ensure security, explainability, and regulatory compliance of AI solutions.
