Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking an AI Engineer to support national security activities in Chantilly, VA.

You will design and deploy AI-driven solutions, train models, and collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to deliver impactful capabilities. The role requires TS/SCI w/ Polygraph, 5+ years of related experience, and strong Python/Java skills, with familiarity in NLP, LLMs, and agentic AI frameworks.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develops AI-driven solutions to solve complex problems and enhance business processes.
• Collects, cleans, and preprocesses data for model training and evaluation.
• Trains and optimizes large language models; evaluates performance and iterates on design.
• Extracts features to improve model generalization and performance.
• Monitors production model performance and implements automated monitoring.
• Documents designs and best practices for AI solutions.
• Collaborates with data scientists, software engineers, product managers and stakeholders to deliver impactful AI solutions.
