Job summary

Nou Systems Inc. seeks an AI Engineer in Huntsville, AL to prototype generative-AI capabilities and integrate LLM-based functions into government-off-the-shelf software for warfighting training participants.

You will work within the Technical Solutions Division and JSTC2 Team on a multidisciplinary software stack with on-prem LLM-powered data exploration. Requirements include a Bachelor's in a related technical field, 5+ years in AI/ML with 2+ years in LLMs, U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ML/CS/SE or related field, Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of professional AI/ML engineering experience, 2+ years with LLMs or generative models.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain active Secret Security Clearance.
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch; experience with LangChain and LlamaIndex; familiarity with vector databases like ChromaDB.
• Experience delivering production-grade, modular, unit-tested code in a Git/GitLab workflow.
• Familiarity with Scrum Agile ceremonies and backlog management.

Responsibilities

• Prototype generative-AI-powered capabilities and integrate them into existing software.
• Contribute to user-facing features released on a 10-week cadence.
• Elicit end-user needs and scope work with incomplete information.
• Evaluate AI landscape and support technology decisions with analysis of alternatives.
• Mentor technical contributors and coordinate with the Chief Architect on software architecture.
