Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 5 to advance responsible, scalable AI platforms that power banking experiences for millions of customers. You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, PMs and product teams to ship AI-powered features and services.

You will design, train, deploy, and optimize foundational models, agents, and multi-model workflows, while building guardrails, governance, and observability into production systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in a related field with 4+ years of AI/ML experience.
• Strong programming in Python and at least one of Java/Go/Scala/CUDA.
• Experience leading AI systems with cost, latency, throughput tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver AI-powered products with cross-functional teams.
• Design, train, deploy, and support AI software components including LLMs and agents.
• Implement guardrails, evaluation, and observability for production AI.
• Optimize multi-model pipelines and cost-performance governance.
