Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 5 to help build responsible, scalable AI systems that power real-time banking experiences. The role involves development of foundation models, multi-agent workflows, and integration of Open Source and SaaS AI tech.

You will contribute to model eval, governance, and observability, partnering with engineers, scientists, and PMs. Ideal candidates bring strong hands-on AI/ML implementation skills, cloud experience, and a drive to advance production-grade AI

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's with years of AI/ML experience as stated in the job ad.
Minimum 6 years programming experience with Python/Go/Scala/CUDA/Java.

Responsibilities

Partner with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, PyTorch.
Optimize foundation model performance, cost, latency, and throughput.
Contribute to the technical vision and long-term AI system roadmap.
Lead orchestration pipelines integrating LLMs and vector search.
Lead governance reviews on GPU utilization and model throughput.
Mentor engineers to raise technical maturity.
