Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 4 to help build AI foundations, LLM cores, and agentic workflows that scale across the enterprise. You will design, train, and deploy AI components, optimize model performance, and ensure governance and observability for reliable production systems.

The role requires strong software engineering, AI/ML expertise, and cloud deployment experience, with a focus on responsible AI and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's (or Master’s) degree in a relevant field with several years of AI/ML experience.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one other language (e.g., Go, Scala, Java).
• Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training and LLM inference.
• Lead optimization of AI systems for latency, cost, and throughput in production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products and maintain observability and governance.
• Mentor junior engineers on scalable design and production translation of research.
