Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer to join the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team in McLean, VA. You will build and optimize AI systems, training and deploying foundation models, and enabling large-scale inference across production environments.

You will work with open-source and SaaS AI tools, drive performance improvements, and contribute to the long-term technical roadmap while mentoring other engineers in a fast-paced, high-impact setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years in AI/ML algorithms or a Master's with 4+ years experience.
• 6+ years of Python/Go/Scala/CUDA/Java development experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products affecting associates and customers.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and support AI software components including foundation model training and inference.
• Optimize multi-model orchestration pipelines and governance for cost and performance.
