The Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team drives state-of-the-art AI engineering at Capital One, focusing on governance, observability, and scalable performance while mentoring engineers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/AI/EE with 4+ years of AI/ML experience or Master's with 2+ years.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.
• Experience leading AI systems with tradeoffs on cost, latency, throughput, and accuracy.
• 6 years of experience deploying AI on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience designing, delivering, and supporting AI services.
• Experience with agentic AI systems and workflows.
• Strong foundation in engineering and math; optimization opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver AI-powered products that change how associates work and how customers interact with Capital One.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation models and agents.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, PyTorch.
• Invent optimization techniques to improve performance, cost, latency, throughput for large-scale AI systems.
• Own end-to-end architecture for complex AI systems with maintainability and observability.
• Define and maintain SLOs for AI reliability.
