Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 4 to help build responsible, scalable AI systems powering real-time banking experiences. You will design, train, deploy, and monitor foundation models, agents, and AI services with PyTorch, HuggingFace, and VectorDBs.

You will own end-to-end architecture, set SLOs, optimize performance and cost, ensure governance and security, and collaborate with engineers across Capital One in San Jose, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus at least 4 years of experience developing AI/ML algorithms or technologies.
• At least 4 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional engineers, scientists, PMs to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, train, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation models and agents.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI tech such as AWS Ultraclusters, HuggingFace, PyTorch, and VectorDBs.
• Own end-to-end architecture for complex AI systems with maintainability and observability.
