Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 5 to help build responsible AI systems and scalable AI infrastructure. You will partner with engineers, researchers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products that transform customer interactions and banking experiences.

You will design, implement, and optimize foundation model training, inference, and multi-agent workflows, leveraging AWS, HuggingFace, PyTorch, and VectorDBs. Strong software engineering and leadership experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/AI/EE/CE with required experience.
• 6+ years programming with Python/Go/Scala/CUDA/Java.
• Experience building AI/ML algorithms or technologies.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
• Invent and optimize foundation model techniques for performance and cost.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term AI systems roadmap.
• Design and optimize multi-model orchestration pipelines.
• Lead cost-performance governance reviews across AI systems.
• Mentor senior AI engineers and elevate technical maturity.
