Job summary

Capital One in New York, NY is seeking an AI Engineer 5 to join the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team. You will design, develop, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training, large language model inference, agents and multi-agent workflows, and governance across AI systems.

The ideal candidate will mentor engineers, optimize multi-model pipelines, and contribute to the long-term AI roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field with 4+ years of AI/ML development experience
• Proficient in Python and at least one of Java/Scala/C/CUDA/Go
• Experience building and deploying AI systems at scale

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training and LLM inference
• Invent optimization techniques to improve performance, cost, latency, and throughput
• Lead governance reviews and ensure AI engineering standards are followed
