Job summary

Capital One’s Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team is seeking an AI Engineer to design and deliver AI-powered products. You will own end-to-end architecture for complex AI systems, train and optimize foundation models, and collaborate with engineers, researchers, and product managers to drive scalable, responsible AI across banking products.

The role emphasizes managing performance, latency, and governance while mentoring junior staff and shaping the long-term AI roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/AI/EE/CE with relevant AI/ML experience.
• 4+ years of experience developing AI/ML algorithms or technologies.
• 4+ years of programming in Python, Go, Scala, CUDA or Java.

Responsibilities

• Deliver AI-powered products with a cross-functional team of engineers, researchers, PMs, and data scientists.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including training and inference pipelines.
• Optimize foundation model performance, latency, and cost; contribute to governance and observability.
