Job summary

Capital One is seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to join the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team in New York. You will design, build, and optimize AI systems that power real-time, customer-facing AI experiences and internal workflows.

You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, and product managers, advancing state-of-the-art techniques while ensuring governance and cost efficiency. This role emphasizes scalable production systems and leadership in AI engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/AI/EE/CE with required experience.
• 6+ years Python/Go/Scala/CUDA/Java experience.
• Experience leading AI systems and cloud deployment.
• Strong understanding of AI systems and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies (AWS, Huggingface, PyTorch, etc.).
• Invent and optimize foundation model performance (latency, cost, throughput).
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term AI roadmap.
• Design and optimize multi-model orchestration pipelines.
