Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 4 to help build responsible and scalable AI systems. You will partner with engineers, researchers, and PMs to deliver AI-powered products that transform how associates work and how customers interact with Capital One.

You will design, train, deploy, and support foundation models, LLM inference, agents, and governance. The role requires deep expertise in Python/Java/CUDA, cloud platforms, and scalable distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/AI/EE/CE plus 4+ years of AI/ML experience or Master's with 2+ years.
• At least 4 years of programming in Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.
• Experience deploying AI systems on cloud platforms and in production.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineers, researchers, PMs to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, train, deploy, and support foundation models, LLMs, agents, and governance.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI tech (AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, PyTorch).
• Develop optimization techniques to improve performance, cost, and latency.
• Own end-to-end architecture and ensure observability and ethical alignment.
