Job summary

Sage, in collaboration with Archer, seeks a Senior AI Engineer to design and deliver AI-powered data migration solutions. You will own end-to-end projects, leveraging ML for data transformation, mapping, and validation, and drive production-grade AI systems in a fast-moving environment.

The role requires 10+ years in data science/AI, strong software engineering, and hands-on experience deploying AI/ML in production. Hybrid work model in San Jose with on-site three days per week.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, AI, or closely related engineering disciplines.
• Significant hands-on experience building and deploying applied data science and/or machine learning solutions.
• Strong software engineering skills and experience developing production-grade systems.
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, deployment, monitoring, or related AI Ops / MLOps practices is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to independently own and deliver large, technically complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI/ML-powered solutions for migrating data from a variety of source systems into Sage products.
• Apply machine learning, data science, and modern AI techniques to problems including data transformation, mapping, classification, reconciliation, and validation.
• Own substantial technical projects end-to-end, from problem definition and architecture through implementation and production deployment.
• Independently drive solutions to complex and ambiguous technical problems.
• Build scalable, reliable production systems rather than prototypes alone.
• Contribute to the infrastructure and operational practices required to deploy, monitor, and maintain AI systems in production.
• Work closely with engineering, product, and domain experts to translate customer and implementation challenges into technical solutions.
• Help establish engineering patterns and best practices for applying AI across Sage's migration capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.
