Job summary

Groundswell is seeking an experienced AI-enabled software engineer in the United States to turn ambiguous business problems into working AI solutions. This client-facing role requires collaborating with stakeholders to determine value, design the approach, implement end-to-end systems, demonstrate results, and deploy in production.

You will work across discovery, build, and operations, delivering robust, scalable AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building and shipping production software.
• Hands-on experience integrating large language models and prompt engineering.
• Experience evaluating AI system quality with metrics and test sets.
• Strong programming ability in Python/TypeScript/SQL and API integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery with stakeholders to understand workflow and success criteria.
• Define measurable success criteria before building AI solutions.
• Select AI patterns appropriate to problems (extraction, classification, summarization, retrieval, agentic).
• Build complete capabilities including prompts, retrieval, APIs, data handling, and UI.
