Syllo is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Applied AI to build production-grade AI-powered features using Large Language Models. You will tackle guardrails, latency optimizations, and seamless integration with front-end services and data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Experience building production AI-powered products in a commercial setting.
• Proficient in Python for backend services and data processing.
• Strong system design skills for distributed architectures.
• Experience integrating LLMs in production with guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance AI-powered features and services with focus on reliability and scalability.
• Mitigate unreliability of LLMs with guardrails, validation pipelines, error handling, caching, and failover.
• Design long-running batch processes that are idempotent, resumable, and resilient to item failures.
• Optimize latency, throughput, and cost for AI-powered services.
• Serve as an engineering expert in integrating models and data feeds with existing APIs and business logic.
• Define evaluation for AI feature output quality, not only system correctness.
• Implement rigorous testing strategies (unit, integration, performance).
• Champion code quality, architecture, and documentation; participate in peer reviews.
• Own full lifecycle of new AI features from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Onboard to codebase and enhance existing data/feature pipelines.
• Collaborate with product managers to scope, estimate, and deliver features.
