Job summary

Lumeris in Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join an AI Agent team, blending front-end, back-end, database and infrastructure work. You will collaborate with product and prompt engineering teams to build AI-enabled applications that power patient-provider conversations.

You should have a strong background in enterprise software development, cloud experience (GCP preferred, AWS helpful), and hands-on experience with AI APIs such as OpenAI, Bedrock or Vertex AI.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development in an enterprise environment.
• Experience building AI-based applications and integrating Generative AI APIs (OpenAI, Bedrock, Vertex AI).
• Hands-on cloud experience; GCP preferred, AWS also valuable.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform) a plus.
• Solid understanding of OOP, Java, web MVC, RESTful services, and data access in RDBMS/NoSQL.

Responsibilities

• Delivers well-tested, peer-reviewed software on time and maintains quality.
• Participates in all phases of the software development lifecycle with cross-functional teams.
• Participates in weekly on-call rotation for production incidents and releases.
• Develops AI-enabled applications using Python and React.
• Integrates Generative AI APIs and evaluates AI functionality for latency, cost and safety.
• Develops data access layer interfacing with cloud databases (Google Cloud SQL, Aurora, PostgreSQL).
• Mentors colleagues through code reviews and collaboration.
