Job summary

Lumeris is hiring a Software Engineer in Cambridge, MA to join a collaborative team building and maintaining SaaS-based products. You will participate in all phases of the development life-cycle from requirements gathering to testing, and contribute to data layer development in a cloud-native environment.

The role emphasizes AI models and tooling, with opportunities to mentor juniors, implement UI components for internal use, and adopt industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years development experience in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with Typescript, Node.js and Python.
• Experience with various data storage types and patterns.
• Familiarity with AI foundational models and prompt engineering.
• Terraform/IAC deployment experience.
• Nice to have: serverless cloud apps.
• Nice to have: event-driven architectures.
• Nice to have: healthcare data.
• Nice to have: Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Responsibilities

• Participates in all phases of the software development life-cycle from requirements gathering and design to coding and testing with cross-functional teams.
• Develops the data layer using modern software languages in a cloud-native environment.
• Utilizes AI accelerator tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) in day-to-day development.
• Applies Large Language Models (LLMs) and RAG patterns in production applications.
• Demos newly developed capabilities to peers and leaders of the organization.
• Mentors junior developers.
• Develops basic but functional internal UIs.
• Follows industry best practices for software development.
