Job summary

Storm2 is seeking an experienced AI-focused engineer to join their early-stage InsurTech team in San Francisco. You will ship production AI systems that impact revenue, conversion, and underwriting efficiency, working alongside operators who use the product daily.

You’ll move fluidly between frontend, backend, and AI infrastructure, implement feedback loops, and measure business outcomes. If you thrive in fast iteration with concrete impact, this role is for you.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping production software systems.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or similar languages.
• Experience deploying AI-powered products, including LLMs, agents, or workflow automation.
• Ability to span frontend, backend, and AI infrastructure layers.
• Proven track record of moving from concept to production quickly.
• Strong stakeholder communication and translating operational problems into software.
• Focus on measurable business outcomes and product instincts.
• Willingness to be based in San Francisco or relocate.

Responsibilities

• Building AI-powered product features across the full stack
• Designing and deploying agent workflows, LLM applications, and automation systems
• Working directly with sales, service, and underwriting teams to identify operational bottlenecks
• Creating feedback loops, evaluations, and decision-tracing systems that continuously improve model performance
• Testing and implementing new AI capabilities as models and tooling evolve
• Shipping production code rapidly and measuring business impact
• Owning outcomes such as conversion, efficiency, and user adoption metrics
• Presenting results and learnings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
