Job summary

Altruist is seeking a Staff Network Engineer to own multi-region AWS networking, including VPC design, transit topology, and secure, scalable connectivity for a regulated broker-dealer environment.

You will design segmentation, enforce IaC practices with Terraform, and advance a zero-trust/SASE model across a distributed engineering team while partnering with Security and other teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in network engineering with 3+ years in cloud-native environments.
• Deep AWS networking experience including VPC design and transit topology.
• Strong fundamentals in routing, BGP, IPsec, TLS, DNS and DHCP.
• Experience with network segmentation, traffic inspection, and cloud/hybrid environments.
• Zero trust / SASE exposure and secure access practices with real-world use cases.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-region AWS network architecture, including VPCs, transit gateways, and routing.
• Design segmentation to isolate workloads and treat infrastructure as code via Terraform.
• Lead zero trust/SASE rollout and device posture for distributed teams.
• Collaborate with Security to meet regulatory standards and audits.
• Manage partner connectivity: VPNs, BGP, Direct Connect with counterparties.
• Oversee office/edge networking, ISP redundancy, and new location standards.
• Define observability and serve as senior escalation for incidents and DR.
• Apply AI-native approaches to network operations and configuration analysis.
• Write standards, review designs, and mentor engineers for resiliency.
