Job summary

EchoStar Corporation in Christiansburg, Virginia seeks a Principal DevOps/Platform Engineer to advance AI-enabled DevOps, design cloud environments on AWS and GCP, and drive scalable, reliable software delivery. You will lead CI/CD pipelines, implement IaC with Terraform, and champion SRE practices including SLOs/SLIs, incident response, and observability using Dynatrace, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.

Travel to HQ in Denver, CO twice yearly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 6 years of cloud/platform experience.
• Experience designing multi-cluster Kubernetes environments (EKS/GKE) and high-availability architectures.
• Proficiency in CI/CD, IaC (Terraform), and GitOps practices.
• Strong understanding of SRE concepts, SLOs/SLIs, incident response, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Drive AI-enabled DevOps integration across the SDLC.
• Design and operate cloud-based environments on AWS and GCP.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to testing and reliability improvements.
