Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Arlington, VA is seeking a Systems Development Engineer to design, build, and operate automation tooling for AFSS compliance programs. You will create end-to-end pipelines, integrate with the compliance evidence library, and apply AI to streamline evidence gathering and audit readiness.

You will collaborate with compliance specialists, security engineering, and legal teams, operating across FedRAMP and air-gapped regions while ensuring data sovereignty and security.

Qualifications

• Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.
• Experience leading the design, build and deployment of complex and performant software solutions in production.
• Experience with security frameworks, IAM, incident response, cloud security, AI security or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate automation and tooling that eliminates manual compliance work.
• Apply AI tooling hands-on — building agents, LLM-based systems, and RAG pipelines.
• Write, review, and maintain production-quality code and design systems, pipelines, APIs, and integrations.
• Force-multiply the compliance team by building tools that expand their scope and reduce toil.
• Integrate with the compliance evidence library and Security Assurance systems while ensuring data sovereignty.
• Develop compliance-domain fluency (SOX, FedRAMP, ISO, SOC 2) to credibly represent automated systems to auditors.
