Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is transforming healthcare through modern cloud-based software. As a Senior Software Engineer in the Claims Global Claims Operations team, you will help advance AI-enabled automation, scale backend services, and deliver secure, production-grade solutions on AWS.

You will design and implement event-driven microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and AI/ML integrations, collaborating with product managers, architects, and data scientists. This role offers telecommute within the U.S.

Qualifications

• 4 years of full-stack engineering experience with strong backend and frontend development expertise.
• 4 years of hands‑on experience in Python development, including scalable RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• 4 years of experience with React.js and modern frontend development frameworks and practices.
• 4 years of experience working on AWS cloud platform, including compute, storage, networking, IAM, monitoring, and security services.
• 3 years of experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.
• 2 years of experience leading technical discussions and cross-functional collaboration.
• 6 months years of experience integrating AI/ML models, GenAI services, or intelligent automation capabilities into production applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise-grade applications supporting AI and claims automation use cases.
• Build high-performance backend services and APIs for AI-assisted workflows and orchestration platforms.
• Develop frontend applications using React.js and modern frameworks.
• Implement reusable components and secure coding practices across the stack.
• Lead design discussions, code reviews, and technical solutioning sessions.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and data scientists to translate requirements into solutions.
• Architect, deploy applications on AWS (Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB, SageMaker).
