Job summary
Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking a Senior Platforms Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of complex infrastructure platforms across digital workplace and AI initiatives. The role emphasizes ownership of AI agents, governance, monitoring, and cost optimization, with a focus on reliability and security.
You will mentor junior engineers, promote cross-functional collaboration, and drive reporting on platform performance, risk, and value to leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in platform engineering or IT infrastructure.
- Experience administering Microsoft Power Platform in enterprise environments preferred.
- Experience with automation design patterns, monitoring, and operational support for platforms preferred.
Responsibilities
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to optimize platform performance.
- Lead advanced troubleshooting and coordinate with vendors and internal teams for incident resolution.
- Design and test disaster recovery and backup strategies; ensure platform resiliency.
- Create and maintain knowledge bases and runbooks; mentor junior engineers.
