Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking a Senior Data Operations Engineer to ensure reliability, security and performance of enterprise data platforms. You will lead cloud-native initiatives across Databricks, Azure Lakehouse, streaming and Cognite, guiding architecture, governance and operations.

You will mentor teams, establish standards, and partner with Security, Governance and Business units to deliver scalable analytics and AI workloads in a highly available environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in data engineering or platform operations.
• Senior-level experience with enterprise-scale data platforms and production analytics environments.
• Experience leading modernization, automation and governance initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform scalability and reliability efforts for enterprise data platforms.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Architecture, Security, Governance and Business teams.
• Drive adoption of new technologies and tools for platform operations and analytics workloads.
• Define KPIs, SLAs, and platform health metrics and ensure adherence.
