Job summary

Acclaim Technical Services seeks a Data Scientist to support engineering services and AI-focused solutions on a key prime contract in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role is onsite and requires strong analytics, modeling, and collaboration with SMEs to deliver data-driven insights.

The candidate will build ML models, tune algorithms, develop diverse analytics approaches, and prepare reports for customers. A PhD may substitute for several years of experience; otherwise a Master’s and at least five

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and Master’s in a quantitative field (statistics, mathematics, OR engineering).
• Minimum 5 years of experience analyzing datasets and developing analytics.
• 5 years programming with data analysis tools such as R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB.
• An additional 2 years in software/cloud development or analytics can substitute for the Master’s degree.
• PhD in a quantitative discipline can substitute for 3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and develop AI models and analyze algorithms to create reliable, relevant solutions.
• Tune input and model parameters to optimize performance.
• Develop ML, data mining, statistics, and graph-based analytics to interpret datasets.
• Prototype multiple algorithms and select final approach using performance metrics.
• Build models/experiments to generate data when training data is unavailable.
• Create reports and visualizations to summarize datasets and deliver insights to customers.
• Collaborate with experts to translate manual analyses into automated analytics.
• Implement prototype algorithms within production frameworks for analyst workflows.
