Job summary

Accenture Federal Services is seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist/AI Specialist in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. You will develop data-driven solutions, train ML models, and perform rigorous statistical analyses to support federal missions.

Ideal candidates bring 7–20+ years in software engineering, experience with Python, R, and major AI frameworks, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams in a mission-focused environment. Security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 7–20+ years of experience in software engineering on similar programs and contracts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with at least one major agentic AI framework (e.g.: LangGraph, CrewAI, Google ADK) OR experience with AI coding agents (e.g.: Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor) as a core part of your development workflow

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data-driven solutions using programming languages such as Python and R
• Conduct statistical analyses, including regression, hypothesis testing, and distribution analysis, to interpret data accurately
• Design and train machine learning models using frameworks like TensorFlow and Scikit-Learn for predictive analytics and automation
• Perform data wrangling to clean and organize raw datasets, making them ready for meaningful analysis
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver actionable insights
