Job summary

Acclaim Technical Services seeks a Data Scientist to support engineering services and AI-focused solutions on a key prime contract in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role is onsite and requires strong analytics, modeling, and collaboration with SMEs to deliver data-driven insights.

The candidate will build ML models, tune algorithms, develop diverse analytics approaches, and prepare reports for customers. A PhD may substitute for several years of experience; otherwise a Master’s and at least five

• Bachelor’s and Master’s in a quantitative field (statistics, mathematics, OR engineering).
• Minimum 5 years of experience analyzing datasets and developing analytics.
• 5 years programming with data analysis tools such as R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB.
• An additional 2 years in software/cloud development or analytics can substitute for the Master’s degree.
• PhD in a quantitative discipline can substitute for 3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and develop AI models; analyze algorithms and protocols; build, test, and refine solutions for reliability and relevance
• Tune input and model parameters to improve performance
• Develop machine learning, data mining, statistical, and graph-based algorithms to analyze and interpret datasets
• Prototype multiple algorithms and select the final approach using suitable performance metrics
• Build models and/or experiments to generate data when training or example datasets are unavailable
• Create reports and visualizations that summarize datasets and deliver data-driven insights to customers
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to convert manual data analysis into automated analytics
• Implement prototype algorithms within production frameworks for integration into analyst workflows

Requirements

• Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a quantitative discipline (examples: statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering, or computer science)
• Minimum of 5 years experience analyzing datasets and developing analytics
• 5 years programming experience with data analysis tools such as R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB
• An additional 2 years of experience in software development, cloud development, dataset analysis, or developing descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics can substitute for the Master’s Degree
• PhD in a quantitative discipline from an accredited college or university can substitute for 3 years of experience

Compensation

• Pay range: USD 240,000 per year (target salary: $240,000.00)
• Final salary may vary based on geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications
