Job summary

Viant Technology is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Potens team in Irvine, CA. You will help evolve Magnus and Goliath, two platforms powering workflow orchestration and large-scale data exploration.

This hands-on role spans Java and Go backend services, front-end JavaScript, and data platforms, with AI-powered capabilities expanding user interactions and secure access through AI tools. You will maintain Magnus and Goliath, build AI features, integrate with BigQuery and MySQL, and

Qualifications

• Hands-on, full-stack engineer with modernization and new AI-powered capabilities.
• Experience across Java and Go backend services and browser-based JavaScript apps.
• Familiarity with data platforms, AI tooling, and secure access controls.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and modernize Magnus Java applications, REST APIs, and Goliath frontend.
• Develop and support backend capabilities using Java and Go.
• Build production AI features and integrations with LLMs and tool calling.
• Integrate with BigQuery, MySQL, GCP services, and internal APIs.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues across stack and databases.
• Create automated tests and ship production-quality software.
• Own projects end-to-end from design to deployment and support.
• Participate in code reviews and promote sound engineering practices.
