Job summary

Viant invites a Sr. Software Engineer to join the AI & Data Platforms team on a hybrid schedule in Irvine, CA. You’ll help evolve Magnus and Goliath, powering workflow orchestration and data exploration at scale, including AI-driven interactions with users and authorized agents.

You’ll develop backend features in Java and Go, build production AI capabilities, and integrate with BigQuery, MySQL, and GCP services while owning end-to-end delivery and contributing to robust engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend services in modern stacks.
• Ability to design scalable architectures across services.
• Strong collaboration and code-review skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support backend capabilities using Java and Go.
• Build production AI features and integrations using LLMs, tool calling, guardrails, evaluation, and MCP.
• Integrate with BigQuery, MySQL, GCP services, and internal APIs.
• Diagnose and resolve application, workflow, database, performance, and production issues.
