Job summary

Apple Inc. in Seattle seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement robust AI governance and data governance platforms that ensure privacy, security, and regulatory compliance across our ML lifecycle.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, embed governance into core services, and build scalable backend systems using Java/Scala/Python while coordinating with legal, security, and data engineering teams to uphold Apple's high standards for responsible AI.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in developing Data & AI governance software or integrating governance systems.
• Experience with large-scale data collection and processing systems.
• Strong understanding of privacy and regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA, DMA).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy scalable AI governance and data governance systems across ML lifecycle.
• Architect authentication and access control for data and models using OAuth 2.0, ABAC, and federated identity.
• Develop backend services in Java/Scala/Kotlin/Go/Python embedding privacy, security and compliance.
• Build batch and streaming pipelines with Spark/Hadoop/Flink for governed data inputs.
• Design REST APIs, SDKs, and tools for governance approvals and compliance reviews at scale.
• Architect large-scale, fault-tolerant serving systems on AWS/GCP/Kubernetes for governance platforms.
• Collaborate with security, legal, privacy, and data engineering teams to maintain responsible AI standards.
