Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Senior AI Context Engineer to design and optimize data foundations powering enterprise AI. You will shape RAG pipelines, vector search, and context engineering across structured and unstructured content, including clinical records, ensuring HIPAA-compliant access and high-quality AI context for responsive agents.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering, applied ML/search, or data-centric app development.
• 12 years of hands-on GenAI and RAG optimization, prompts, and vector retrieval for LLMs.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with Airflow, Prefect, Temporal.
• Deep experience with parsing frameworks (LlamaIndex, Unstructured.io, LangChain) for unstructured documents.
• Hands-on with vector databases and semantic search platforms (Pinecone, pgvector, Weaviate, Qdrant, Azure AI Search).
• Familiarity with RAG and LLM context evaluation frameworks (Ragas, TruLens, Arize Phoenix).
• Experience handling PHI/PII in high-compliance environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine structured/unstructured parsing workflows into high-quality contextual units for LLMs.
• Implement hybrid search, metadata routing, and reranking to improve retrieval precision.
• Design context payload specifications and metadata for MCP servers and orchestration tools.
• Recommend and implement vector indexing strategies and embedding schemes in enterprise vector stores.
• Establish automated evaluation for retrieval relevance, context quality, and embedding drift.
• Ensure HIPAA/HITRUST compliance and RBAC in vector metadata for authorized access.
