Material is seeking a Senior Architect / AI Context Engineer to bridge enterprise architecture and AI operations across our design and technology stack. Based in or near New York, Austin, or Los Angeles, the role is hybrid and focuses on governance, agent architectures, and AI-native design patterns to accelerate business value.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software/enterprise architecture roles.
• Experience designing AI/LLM-integrated systems: agent architectures and prompts.
• Strong context engineering: prompt design, retrieval, context windows.
• Experience with MCP, LangChain, Claude API, OpenAI API, or equivalents.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript/Node.js.
• Governance artifacts: ADRs, SDLC standards, security reviews.
• Experience with Atlassian, Azure, GitHub, Salesforce; strong writing skills.

Responsabilités

• Design and maintain MCP server architectures and agent patterns.
• Curate reusable agent skills, prompts, and harness configurations.
• Publish governance docs: ADRs, security checklists, governance models.
• Develop enterprise context engineering layer with standards and templates.
• Lead internal agent platform pilot with scoped tool access and audits.
• Create accelerator maps and knowledge graph alignment with business teams.
