Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Distinguished Engineer for AI Compute, a hands-on technical leader who will architect and scale the company’s cloud-based AI platform. You will work on CPU/GPU compute, notebooks, ML/DL training, inference, and transformer model pipelines in a high-performance environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with substantial AI/ML coursework or experience as described in the job posting.
• At least 10 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build control and data plane implementations for a highly available, multi-tenant ML platform.
• Develop Ray and Spark distributed compute engine solutions to accelerate diverse workloads including LLM training and large-scale data processing.
• Engineer systemic improvements to KTLO workflows for operational excellence.
• Direct the technical execution of a diverse project portfolio across distributed microservices and large foundation models.
• Collaborate with product/PM teams and stakeholders to optimize business outcomes and technology solutions.
• Mentor internal talent and actively recruit to bolster Capital One’s tech talent pool.
