Job summary

Capital One is hiring a Staff AI Engineer (Remote Eligible) to help build responsible AI systems and scalable AI infrastructure. The role involves partnering with engineers, scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered banking solutions.

You will work with Open Source and SaaS AI tools (AWS, Huggingface, PyTorch) and drive optimization across training and inference, governance, and observability in production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields with 8+ years of AI/ML development experience, or Master's with 6+ years.
• 8+ years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including model training and inference.
• Invent state-of-the-art optimization techniques for large-scale AI systems.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.
