Job summary

Verizon is seeking a senior Dist Engr-AI Engineer to lead the technical execution of a modern, agile model development process. You will work on high-impact propensity models at touchpoints of the customer lifecycle, enabling deep microsegmentation and hyper-personalization to reduce churn and optimize journeys.

You will design and deploy agentic AI/LLM solutions, mentor junior data scientists, and present insights to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 6+ years of work experience.
• Eight or more years of relevant experience in ML/AI.
• Experience working on high-priority or high-visibility technical initiatives within a corporate setting.
• Experience designing and measuring A/B tests or uplift models for targeting.
• Strong expertise in ML/DL algorithms, including transformers and NLP; experience with PyTorch and scikit-learn; probability calibration and time-based validation.
• Experience with Python, R, and SQL for advanced statistical modeling and large-scale data extraction.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and production MLOps tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of agentic AI, LLM, and machine learning solutions.
• Build, train, and deploy high-priority propensity models to predict customer behaviors and churn risk.
• Consolidate overlapping propensity models into a unified state to reduce costs.
• Manage end-to-end model development pipelines from feature engineering to production deployment and monitoring.
• Mentor junior data scientists and provide technical guidance.
• Own the lifecycle of models deployed in high-impact areas with continuous optimization.
• Present model insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
