Job summary

Berkeley Research Group is seeking a Sr. Managing Consultant/Managing Consultant AI Architect in Financial Services Operations & Technology.

The role is based in NY with options to work from Boston, Chicago, or Dallas, and strong candidates in other locations may be considered case by case. You will combine solution architecture with hands-on engineering to deliver production‑ready AI solutions, translating client needs into governed workflows with clear automation boundaries.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years for Managing Consultant level; 7+ years for Senior Managing Consultant level.
• Demonstrated delivery of AI applications from architecture to production.
• Strong Python engineering skills with maintainable services and API integrations.
• Experience with RAG and agentic workflows and trade-offs in retrieval/orchestration.
• Security/governance controls for AI systems including prompt-injection defenses.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI architecture and engineering workstreams with explicit automation boundaries.
• Implement production AI services in Python; integrate models, retrieval, rules, tools, and APIs.
• Design and build RAG and agentic workflows with source-grounded responses and human review.
• Collaborate with vendor partners, domain experts, data and application engineers, and risk teams.
• Define evaluation datasets and acceptance criteria; test retrieval quality, task accuracy, latency, and cost.
• Implement LLMOps practices for prompt/model versioning, testing, deployment, monitoring, and rollback.
• Design safeguards for prompt-injection, data access, and unsafe tool actions with security teams.
• Deploy secure, maintainable solutions and prepare operating procedures and documentation.
• Mentor engineers and lead technical reviews; validate adoption and measurable benefits.
• Capture expert decision patterns to reusable workflows and future opportunities.
