Job summary

New Jersey Judiciary Information Technology Office is expanding to include a Senior AI Applications Developer who will lead AI initiatives and deliver AI-powered applications supporting the Judiciary’s mission.

This senior-level role designs, develops, implements, and supports AI-enabled applications across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with business users and leadership to deliver scalable, secure AI solutions in a fast-evolving environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in enterprise app design, development, testing and support.
• Strong programming in Python, JavaScript, React or similar languages.
• Experience with AI tools, LLMs, or AI-assisted software development.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor teams.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, implementation and support of AI-powered applications across the full software development lifecycle.
• Architect AI workflows and features that improve processes and service delivery.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into scalable, secure AI solutions.
• Provide technical leadership for AI integration in enterprise systems.
• Lead modernization of legacy apps with AI capabilities and best practices.
• Evaluate emerging AI tools, platforms, models and vendors with adoption guidance.
• Develop proof-of-concept solutions and pilot applications to test new tech.
• Collaborate with business users, developers and leadership to ensure delivery.
• Support testing, deployment planning, troubleshooting and post-production maintenance.
• Establish coding standards, testing approaches and AI project documentation.
• Mentor junior developers in AI development practices.
• Stay current with AI advancements to improve operations and services.
