Job summary

Eversheds Sutherland is seeking an experienced AI Application Developer on its US Innovation Team to lead design, development, and deployment of enterprise AI solutions. You will architect secure, scalable AI systems, integrate LLMs and RAG pipelines, and collaborate with lawyers, business stakeholders, and IT to deliver impactful capabilities.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, DevOps maturity, and architecture decisions to support firm-wide AI initiatives and governance.

Qualifications

5+ years of software or AI development experience, with at least 2 years in a lead/architect role.
Experience with large language models, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and orchestration frameworks.
Experience building RAG applications with vector databases (e.g., Azure AI Search, Pinecone, Weaviate).
Proficiency with Azure AI Foundry and related Azure services.
Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, AI Builder).
Strong SQL skills and data modeling for AI/ML pipelines.
Experience implementing MCP or similar agent communication protocols.
Solid DevOps practices including CI/CD, IaC, and environment management.
Prior experience in a law firm, legal department, or professional services environment.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end development of AI-powered applications, including LLM integrations and RAG pipelines.
Design and implement MCP integrations for interoperability between AI agents and firm systems.
Architect solutions on Azure AI Foundry with security, compliance, and scalability in mind.
Develop AI workflows using Power Platform to enable non-technical users.
Build and optimize SQL data layers to support AI applications and analytics pipelines.
Establish coding standards, code reviews, and documentation practices for the team.
Define DevOps pipelines (CI/CD) for AI and software projects with reliable deployment and rollback.
Propose and maintain Git-based version control strategies and branching models.
Evaluate new AI frameworks and tools, recommending adoption where appropriate.
Design firm-wide AI systems with governance, data privacy, and performance at scale.
