Job summary

Trimble Inc. is seeking a Senior AI Agentic Software Engineer to own full-stack development of a React-based payroll frontend and a .NET payroll backend.

This role emphasizes agent-driven coding, architectural leadership, and end-to-end testing within a secure, scalable cloud environment in Lake Oswego, Oregon. You will mentor engineers, design modular architectures, and drive delivery of features across frontend and backend while aligning with business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including shipping and supporting production systems.
• Hands-on experience using and managing AI coding agents, with understanding of their strengths and limitations and judgment on when not to trust them.
• Advanced proficiency in prompt design, agentic programming, oversight, and evaluation of AI-generated code with guardrails.
• Advocates for ethical AI principles including privacy, explainability, transparency, and bias mitigation.
• Proven system architecture design skills and strong experience in modern full-stack development, including frontend frameworks, backend services, distributed/event-driven systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience designing E2E test strategies and implementing E2E test suites.
• Track record of mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction beyond your own work.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ownership for relevant outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Agent Orchestration: Design, own, and continuously improve AI development pipelines; set standards for supervising agent output, code quality, and version control, and own the prompt libraries, agent skills, and evaluation datasets.
• Architecture: Lead modular, cost-aware architectures for scale and security reviews; ensure adherence to platform standards; author ADRs and weigh architectural decisions across services.
• Feature Delivery and Testing: Deliver end-to-end features across frontend and backend with a robust testing strategy and coverage targets.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor engineers, lead code and design reviews, and share reusable patterns across teams.
• Business Outcomes: Own KPIs for your area, ensuring decisions tie to business outcomes.
