Job summary

Trimble is recruiting a Senior AI Agentic Software Engineer to own end-to-end development within the Payroll frontend and backend stack. Lead architecture decisions, oversee AI-driven code generation, and drive secure, scalable solutions for production systems.

The role blends frontend React/TypeScript with .NET backend services, emphasizing testing, mentorship, and measurable business outcomes. Based in Lake Oswego, OR, on-site with modern tooling and cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, shipping/maintaining production systems.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents and understanding their strengths/limits.
• Advanced skills in prompt design, agentic programming, and evaluation of AI-generated code.
• Experience with ethical AI principles including privacy, explainability, and bias mitigation.
• Proven system architecture design skills across frontend, backend, distributed systems, and cloud.
• Experience designing End-to-End testing strategies and suites.
• Mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction beyond own work.

Responsibilities

• Agent Orchestration: design and improve pipelines for AI agents to code, document, and refactor securely.
• Architecture: lead modular, cost-aware designs; ensure security reviews and platform standards.
• Feature Delivery and Testing: own end-to-end frontend and backend features with testing coverage.
• Technical Leadership: mentor engineers, lead reviews, share reusable patterns across teams.
• Business Outcomes: own KPIs and tie technical decisions to business results.
