Job summary

Scale AI, Inc. is seeking a Senior/Staff Machine Learning Engineer on the General Agents team to design, build, and deploy production-ready AI agents for enterprise use cases.

You will own end-to-end agent systems, from model and system design to evaluation, deployment, and iterative improvement. You will collaborate with product managers, customers, and other engineers to translate enterprise requirements into robust agent designs, productionize techniques, and ensure observability and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and deploying ML/AI systems in production.
• Bachelor's and/or Master's in Computer Science, ML, AI, or equivalent.
• Deep understanding of modern LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic design.
• Proficiency in Python with production-grade code and testing.
• Experience integrating models with APIs, databases, and services.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end agent systems combining reasoning, tools, memory, and control.
• Build scalable architectures deployable across many customers.
• Develop evaluation frameworks, datasets, environments, and metrics.
• Collaborate with product managers, customers, and other engineering teams.
• Productionize frontier agent techniques and ensure observability.
