Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking an experienced software engineer to design scalable AI-powered systems, collaborating with product managers to translate requirements into robust solutions. You will build extensible UIs, contribute to new products, and ensure high-quality releases through automated testing and strong code reviews.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software engineering, hands-on agentic systems experience, and familiarity with frontier AI SDKs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on depth designing, shipping, and operating agentic systems in production.
• Experience with frontier AI SDKs (Anthropic, Google, or OpenAI) in production settings.
• Familiarity with RAG and retrieval patterns in production.
• Track record of technical leadership: architecture ownership and mentoring engineers.
• Experience with multi-agent coordination patterns (A2A, MCP).
• Familiarity with agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex).
• Prior experience shipping AI systems in enterprise software.
• Experience with AI observability tooling (tracing, cost tracking).
• Strong appetite for continuous incremental wins.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, maintainable software components with emphasis on performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with product managers to translate requirements into well-architected solutions, owning features from design through delivery.
• Build intuitive user experiences using modern UI frameworks with flexible customization.
• Contribute to new products and features while enhancing existing capabilities.
• Integrate automated testing into development workflows for quality across releases.
• Participate in design and code reviews to uphold performance and testability.
• Develop comprehensive test strategies covering functional, regression, integration, and performance.
• Mentor engineers on AI practices and software quality.
• Share best practices in engineering and craftsmanship across the team.
