Job summary

Amazon Advertising is driving a greenfield, AI-powered vertical advertising platform. You will lead the technical strategy for a startup-like team and translate ambiguous business problems into scalable architectures that shape the product for years to come.

You will partner with Principal Engineers and Scientists to define the engineering roadmap, design end-to-end services, and mentor engineers as the team scales in a fast-moving environment with immediate impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development and leadership experience.
• Experience mentoring, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous problems into scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for AI-powered advertising solutions across verticals.
• Define the engineering roadmap with Principal Engineers and Scientists.
• Design and build end-to-end services and platforms from scratch.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, science, and product teams.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including agentic AI models, to accelerate development.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar as the team scales.
• Influence long-term technical vision while delivering high-impact results.
